How to use this page
- If the photo is a huge camera original, resize to about 1200–1600 pixels wide unless the recipient asked for more.
- Open the compressor and set 100 KB for several photos in one message, or 200 KB for a single attachment.
- Check the real size, attach the download, and keep the original out of the sent mail.
Worked example: three event photos in one message
Resize each master to 1600 pixels wide, compress each to 100 KB as JPG, and attach the three downloads. If the school portal wants one 200 KB file instead, use that target on a single image. For a multi-page PDF of scans, compress each image, then build the PDF on PDF North locally.
What this job is for
Do not zip a single JPG expecting magic. Do not screenshot a photo and send the screenshot. Do not forward the camera original “just in case” if the mailbox already failed.
Useful limits
Inline images in HTML email are often shown around 600 pixels wide. The email header size page covers a 600 × 200 banner. For Gmail’s 25 MB message cap specifically, use the Gmail compression guide.
The live tool behind this page is Image Compressor. It is the same local engine as the rest of Image Cosmos.
Frequently asked questions
What target should I type?
Whatever the host states. If silent, 100–200 KB per photo is a practical email range.
Why did Outlook still bounce?
Signatures, previous replies and other attachments count too. The limit is the whole message.
Does Image Cosmos email the file for me?
No. You attach the local download.
Need a PDF attachment instead?
Create it on PDF North after you have the rasters you want.
