How Image Cosmos works

When you choose a compatible image, your browser decodes it and draws the result with its built-in Canvas technology. The finished file is generated as a temporary local download.

Limits

For device stability, files are limited to 25 MB and decoded images to 40 megapixels. Supported inputs are JPG, PNG and WebP. Browser format support can vary, especially on older devices.

Quality and transparency

JPG and WebP quality is adjustable. PNG output is lossless but often larger. JPG cannot preserve transparent pixels, so transparent areas receive the selected background colour.

How platform sizes are maintained

Each platform-size page records its primary guidance link and the date Image Cosmos last checked it. Where a platform specifies only an aspect ratio, minimum size or range, the page labels the exact export canvas as a practical choice instead of presenting it as a hard platform rule. Requirements and visible crops can change, so time-sensitive uploads should be checked against the linked source.
