How to use this page
- On iPhone: Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible saves future shots as JPG.
- For one photo you already have, open the HEIC to JPG page and convert it in this browser. A decoder loads only if the browser cannot read HEIC itself.
- If you already have JPG, use compress or resize next. If you need PNG or WebP, use HEIC to PNG or HEIC to WebP.
Worked example: sending a holiday HEIC to a Windows PC
Open HEIC to JPG, convert, and AirDrop or mail the JPG. Chrome on Windows uses the same local decoder. Then compress to 200 KB if you are emailing. For a printed PDF album, build pages on PDF North from the JPGs.
What this job is for
A cloud “HEIC converter” that asks you to upload the camera roll is a different product. This site will not do that, even if decode fails.
Useful limits
HEIC can contain depth or edit data this Canvas path will not preserve. Keep the original in Photos.
The live tool behind this page is PNG to JPG. HEIC is decoded in this browser. A local decoder loads only when the browser cannot read HEIC itself.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Chrome say it cannot read the file?
A damaged or unusual HEIC can still fail. The file was not uploaded. Export JPG from Photos and try that file if the decoder reports an unsupported HEIC.
Is Most Compatible the same as this tool?
Most Compatible makes the phone save JPG next time. This page converts a file you already have, in the browser.
Does a failed HEIC get uploaded for conversion?
No.
Need those photos in a PDF?
Convert to JPG first, then use PDF North.
