How to use Marketplace Image Pack
- Choose one high-resolution JPG, PNG or WebP product photo.
- Choose fit-with-background or crop-to-fill, a background colour and JPG quality.
- Create six real outputs, inspect their dimensions and download the files you need.
Useful to know
The pack uses documented recommendations plus clearly labelled practical canvases, not a promise that every marketplace requires one exact size. Requirements can change, so check the linked primary guidance before a high-value upload.
Resize one product photo for six seller channels
The marketplace image pack creates six separate JPG files from one JPG, PNG or WebP source: two Etsy shapes, an Amazon square, a Shopify square, an eBay square and a Meta catalogue square. Each output is rendered at its stated pixel dimensions in your browser and receives a channel-specific filename. You can preview and download each file separately instead of saving outputs you do not need.
Fit the whole product or crop to fill
Fit whole product keeps every part of the source visible and adds the selected background colour where its shape differs from the target canvas. This is the safer choice for products that must not be clipped. Crop to fill covers the complete canvas and removes overhanging edges; use it only when the subject has enough space around it. Transparent pixels receive the chosen background because the exports are JPG files.
What happens when the source is too small?
The tool still creates the requested canvas but labels every output that enlarges the source. Enlargement cannot invent product detail and can make edges, labels and texture look soft. Start with the highest-resolution original available and inspect each preview at full size before uploading. The tool does not remove backgrounds, retouch products or check marketplace content policies.
How the preset dimensions were chosen
Marketplace requirements do not reduce to one permanent exact square. Some platforms publish a minimum, a recommended range or only a preferred shape. The pack therefore distinguishes exact documented recommendations from practical export canvases and links the primary guidance checked on 3 September 2026.
| Export | Pixels | Basis | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Etsy listing square | 2000 × 2000 | Meets Etsy's 2,000 px width-and-height recommendation | Etsy image requirements |
| Etsy listing 4:3 | 2000 × 1500 | Practical 4:3 export; Etsy does not require this exact canvas | Etsy image requirements |
| Amazon product square | 2000 × 2000 | Practical square above Amazon's 1,000+ px zoom recommendation | Amazon product image guide |
| Shopify product square | 2048 × 2048 | Shopify says 2,048 × 2,048 px usually displays best for square products | Shopify product media guidance |
| eBay listing square | 1600 × 1600 | Practical square above eBay's 500 px longest-side minimum | eBay picture policy |
| Meta catalogue square | 1024 × 1024 | Meta's recommended 1,024 × 1,024 px catalogue image | Meta catalogue image specifications |
Etsy recommends listing images at least 2,000 pixels in both width and height. Amazon recommends 1,000 pixels or more for zoom rather than one required square. Shopify says 2,048 × 2,048 pixels usually displays best for square products. eBay requires at least 500 pixels on the longest side. Meta recommends 1,024 × 1,024 pixels for square catalogue images. Private processing and honest limitations
All six resizes and JPG encodes run locally with the browser's image engine. Image Cosmos does not upload or store the selected product photo. The temporary previews disappear when the page closes or reloads. JPG is lossy, quality settings can change fine detail and colour management varies by browser. Keep the original master, inspect text and edges, and use the image compressor only if a destination also imposes a strict file-size limit.
