How to use this page
- Choose a JPG, PNG or WebP image in the workspace above.
- Keep JPG or WebP selected and confirm the target is 750 KB.
- Compress on this device, check the actual size, then download.
Worked example: a press JPG a newsroom caps at 750 KB
Resize a 24-megapixel original to the newsroom’s max width (often 2000 pixels), then compress that copy to 750 KB as JPG. The preview should stay close to the resized look. If they count kilobytes strictly, the result will sit a little under 750 KB because the tool aims below the typed target.
What this job is for
At 750 KB you can usually keep useful pixel dimensions after a sensible resize. Do not use this target for a 200-pixel thumbnail. Prefer it for a wide article figure or a press preview that still refuses a 4 MB camera file.
Useful limits
Seven hundred and fifty KB is still too large for many mailboxes. Use 100–200 KB for attachments. Keep print masters uncompressed.
The live tool behind this page is Image Compressor. It is the same local engine as the rest of Image Cosmos.
Frequently asked questions
Should I pick 750 KB or 1 MB?
Use 1 MB when the host allows it and the image is shown large. Use 750 KB when that is the written cap or 1 MB keeps bouncing.
Is 750 KB the same as 0.75 MB?
This page uses a 750 KB target. The finished file should be slightly under that.
Does Image Cosmos store the file?
No. The download is a temporary browser link.
